In Memory of: Pamela Joy Halbert-Damon Rest in Peace Loved ones, Pamela Joy Halbert has passed away and has joyfully reunited with her Father in Heaven. With a loving and purified heart, she has left us fully confident that we are of the faithful and knowing that the goodness of the Lord will help us to overcome any sorrow in our hearts. At 77 years of age and after a valiant 16 month battle with lung cancer Pam’s passing was peaceful and occurred during her sleep in the pre-dawn hours of July 5, 2018 at her home in Fife, WA. Pamela Joy, who was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 30, 1940, is preceded in death by her beloved parents John Clay, Sr. and Dorothy I. Clay (formerly Dorothy Wright). In her youth, Pam was an energetic, creative, talented and social person who quickly made friends wherever she went. Pam was an honor student, song leader, Drum Majorette, awarded member of the student government at Federal Way High school where she graduated in 1959, and an active member of the Methodist church. Once married, Pam devoted her life in service to her three surviving husbands Dale R. Strowbridge, William D. Halbert, and regrettably, Robert Damon as well as to her six children: Cheryll Halbert, Willie Halbert, Lanelle (Halbert) Schneckloth, Scott Halbert, Jack Halbert and Michelle Halbert. Pam is also survived by her devoted brother John Clay, Jr., nieces, nephews and grandchildren who she was very proud of and prayed for regularly. Pam was a thoughtful and precise accountant for several businesses during her working years and made devoted friends along the way who will miss her greatly. Pam loved to travel. Especially fond of RV travel, Pam visited many national parks, scenic and historical landmarks during her lifetime. She developed a passion for gardening, was an avid reader and politics was a favorite subject. Special thanks, love and prayers goes out to Pam’s brother John Clay, Jr. and his dear wife Nita; to Frank and Patty at Cedars RV and to all those marvelous souls who worked tirelessly to provide for Pam’s many needs during her life and especially during the difficult times preceding her death. Pam’s cremation will be at Edward’s Memorial in University Place, WA and her ashes will remain with her daughter Cheryll pending memorial services according to the wishes of the surviving family members.
