Pam Horton, 55, passed away peacefully after fighting a courageous battle with breast cancer on Tuesday Aug 8th, 2017 with her family by her side. “Your Wings Were Ready but Our Hearts Were Not” Pam was born and raised in the Portland area. She spent most of her life working in retail, most recently at Beaverton Fred Meyers as a deli retail clerk, achieving 25 years of service prior to getting sick. She was a dedicated employee, and an icon in the deli, loved by her customers and peers. Her co-workers performed fund raisers and provided her love and support throughout her battle with cancer. Her family is so grateful for all they did for Pam, and can’t thank them enough! Pam loved the simple things in life, after a hard day’s work she enjoyed relaxing and having a cold beer. She also enjoyed watching soaps, fishing, catching crawdads, reading her weekly “In Touch” magazine to keep up with all the gossip, hanging out with family and friends, the beach, getting a sun tan (as dark as she could get), hanging out with her niece Amber who also helped her immensely during her illness, and babies who always brought a smile to her face. Her favorite foods were lobster and Moms sukiyaki recipe handed down by her grandmother. Her boys meant the most to her, two of them Navy men. She was so proud of them and what they have accomplished and loved them all very much! Pam is survived by her three sons, Casey, Owen and Wally; her four grandchildren, Wyatt, Oliver, Orion and Layla, her remaining brother and sister, and nieces and nephews. We will always cherish our special times and memories we have of you, and you will live on forever in our hearts! Rest in Peace. The family will hold a private celebration of life from 2pm to 5pm on Sat. Aug 26th, 2017 by private invitation. "To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die."In Loving memory of Pam Those we love don’t go away, They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, And very dear. God saw you were getting tired. And a cure would not be. So He put his loving arms around you. And whispered, “Come to me.”, With tearful eyes we watched you. And saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating. Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us. He only takes the best.
