Paola D. Aguilar, J.D.

 

Paola Dolores Aguilar, 31, passed away on June 4th, 2024 after years of battling cancer.  Paola passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends. 

 

Paola was born to Rogelio and Elvira Aguilar Contreras in Ontario, Oregon on December 6, 1992, the fourth of 5 children.  She grew up in Payette, Idaho, graduating from Payette High School among the top students in her class.  She attended undergraduate school at Washington State University and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Paola later transferred to the University of Idaho where she was an active member in the Pre-Law Society and Pi Sigma Alpha, and in 2017 graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. 

 

Soon after, Paola moved to Boise to pursue law school at University of Idaho College of Law, graduating in 2020.  While in law school, she worked as a Law Clerk for Yturri Rose and served as a Legal Intern for the Payette County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.  After law school, Paola worked for Idaho Central Credit Union as a Project Manager and Business Analyst, and subsequently joined Idaho Technology Council (ITC) as a Program Manager.  Paola was well-loved by all of the members of ITC and was recognized for her dedication to the community and the significant impact she had on the tech sector over the past year. Beyond work, Paola volunteered for Idaho’s Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) serving on the Board of Directors and was their current Board Chair. 

 

Paola is survived by her immediate family, father, Rogelio, mother, Elvira, her siblings, Rogelio Aguilar Jr. (Katie), Isabel Brito (Luis), Francisco Aguilar (Lilli), and Alexandro Aguilar, as well as her partner, Drake Serrano.  Paola is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Marcus, Jordy, Leila, Valeria, Samuel, Mateo, Cora, and Dorian. 

 

A Celebration of Life honoring Paola’s life will be held on Friday, June 7th, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 829 SW 2nd Avenue in Ontario, Oregon; Rosary at 11:00 am, Mass at 12:00 pm with Reception to follow.  In the end, Paola’s one wish was that she could have helped more people.  Honoring her wish and in lieu of flowers, please make donations and contributions in her name to any of the following organizations: FCCLA of Idaho, Idaho Legal Aid, Faces of Hope, or the Women’s and Children’s Alliance.
