Parasceve "Vee" Hoppe
August 30th, 1935 - September 29th, 2016
Parasceve Ernestine Copses Hoppe passed away at home on September 29, 2016. Born in Charlotte, NC on August 30, 1935 to Ernest and Nora Copses, she grew up in the Dilworth neighborhood of Charlotte. Vee attended Charlotte public schools, graduating old Central High School (Class of 1953) and attended Salem College in Winston Salem from 1953 to 1955. She earned her Certificate of Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill. Vee married Allan Hoppe after graduating from UNC and resided the rest of her life in Charlotte, in the Beverly Woods and Montibello neighborhoods. She worked as a dental hygienist for over 40 years . She was active in the community, a founding member of Sharon United Methodist Church, member of the Montibello Garden Club and Tuckaway Investors Investment Club, and a weekly bridge player. She was also a longstanding member of Carmel Country Club and an avid tennis player. Later in life Vee worked part time at Bedford Falls Toy Store and was a steady volunteer with the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections. She was also a founding Carolina Panther PSL ticket holder and enjoyed going to games with her children and grandchildren. An owner of Mockingbird Hill in North Litchfield Beach, SC, Vee enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the coast all of her life. Vee was predeceased by her parents and her husband Allan. She is survived by her sons Allan, Jr. (Robyn) of Charlotte, Glenn (Denise) of Summerfield, NC, and Jeff (Caroline) of Pawley's Island, SC, and her grandchildren, William, Allyson, Jonathon and Norah Hoppe. Also survived by sister and brother in-law Dorothy and Dick Dickson. A memorial service will be held at Sharon United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4. A private graveside service follows. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church. Arrangements are in care of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service.
