Kernersville-Pastor Myra Lynn Nifong Thomason, 48, passed away April 23, 2012 following a year long battle with Cancer. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Thursday April 26, 2012 at New Beginnings Assembly Church with Rev. Carl Miller officiating. Interment will be held at 3:00PM Thursday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lexington. A native of Davidson County, Myra was the daughter of the late Hannah Geraldine Alspaugh and Harold Loyd Nifong who survives. She was a graduate of North Davidson High School Class of '81. She also was a graduate of Piedmont Bible College and was the founder and pastor of New Beginnings Assembly Church. She was a 2010 graduate of Leadership Kernersville and continued her civic efforts with her class by helping to form Impact Triad. Impact Triad was begun to deliver programs to assist with the quality of life for children, their families, and the community. In addition to her mother, she also was preceded in death by her brother Timothy Nifong. Survivors include her husband A. Gray Thomason of the home; daughter Hannah Fox and Nate of Richmond, VA; son Jake Thomason of Wilmington; father Harold Nifong of Midway; and sister Rhonda Summer and Steve of Midway. The family will visit with friends from 5-8pm Wednesday evening at New Beginnings Assembly Church. Myra requested no flowers and all memorials are asked to be made to New Beginnings Assembly Church or Impact Triad, c/o New Beginnings Assembly, 365 Bodenhamer Street, Kernersville, NC, 27824.
