Pat Summers
July 29th, 1927 - December 31st, 2018
Patricia “Pat” Summers passed December 31, 2018. Born 1927 in Oroville, CA to Edward and Hazel Manley, then moving to Palo Alto where she grew up. Completing business school, she was the first secretary to the purchasing agent at Hewlett-Packard. As an avid bowler, she later worked as a bookkeeper for a forty-lane bowl and instructor. In 1958, she and her bowling partner represented Northern California at the National Doubles in New York placing 8th in the nation and numerous WIBC tournaments. Due to a back injury, she gave up bowling and worked as a bookkeeper for a physical therapy office before coming to Amador County. Her husband, Jay, opened Amador Equipment Company in 1966, later moving the business to Highway 88 and Ridge Road (at the Big Man). Preceded by husband, Jay Summers; son, Michael Bishop; and brother, Edward Manley. Survived by niece, Maureen Stiley, and great-nephew, Blue Stiley of Seattle, WA; and nephew Eddie Manley of Reno, NV. Graveside service at Keystone Mausoleum, Sunset View Cemetery, Jackson, CA on January 7, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. Contributions to be to a charity of donor’s choice.
