Betz, Rossi Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home - Gloversville
Patricia J. Albanese
June 30th, 1936 - August 4th, 2021
With great sadness we announce that our beloved mother and heart of the family, Patricia J. Albanese, passed away at the family residence on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, surrounded by her four loving children. As part of the divine plan, the day of her passing was also the 100th birthday of our father, the late Hon. Mario M. Albanese, who was the love of her life and faithful partner. Our mother, who was known as Pat, was born on June 30, 1936, to the late Catherine E. Lucas and Warren Bartlett in Johnstown, NY. Because her father died when she was only 9 years old, she spent summers working on her aunt’s farm in Bainbridge, NY, learning and enjoying a farm way of life. Those experiences served her well throughout her life, as she was very resourceful, reused, and repurposed items long before it was the new “green” thing to do. She was a 1955 graduate of Johnstown High School and attended the prestigious Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester as a voice major. Music was her love and passion and in her younger years, served as the Mt. Carmel Church Choir Director and soloist. She loved to cook, bake, garden, play cards and board games. She was also an avid golfer and in her younger years, played in the Alban Hills Country Club and Sacandaga Ladies’ Golf Leagues, the latter for which she was also the league secretary. She was employed as the legal secretary to our father while also raising her kids, was on the organizing committees for all her class reunions and was a pre-eminent bookkeeper for the family businesses. She is survived by her children, Atty Michael M. Albanese (Kim) of Gloversville, Nadine C. McDermott (Michael) of Valley Cottage, NY, Nanette J. Albanese-Morrey of Pearl River, NY, and William P. Albanese of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; her grandsons, Jordan P. Albanese and Luke S. Albanese, as well as her granddaughter, Gabriella P. Morrey. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Hon. Mario M. Albanese, her grandson, Justin Michael Albanese, and her brother, William J. Bartlett. Her family and friends were very important to her and she maintained many friendships her entire life. We will celebrate her life at a service at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 So. Main St, Gloversville, NY on Saturday, August 7, 2021, where Pat’s family encourages all visitors to wear a facial covering. Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 am until 11:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Justin M. Albanese Memorial Scholarship Foundation (new,) care of Nanette J. Albanese, 131 Martin Pl, Pearl River, NY 10965. We would like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Robin Havens, Jeanette St. Peter, Barbara Waller, Stacy Dillenbeck, Melissa Lopez and Thurla Stock. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville. Online condolences to the family may be made at www.brbsfuneral.com
