Patricia Thayer Cash
November 14th, 1939 - January 19th, 2024
Patricia T Cash, known to loved ones as PT or Pat completed her earthly journey on January 19, 2024, in Fairfax, Virginia, at the age of 84. Born on November 14, 1939, she lived a life characterized by quiet dignity, steadfast love, and the gentle strength that defined her presence. Her legacy endures through her siblings Charles 'Chuck' Thayer and Carol Jo 'CJ' Heald as well as her devoted children, Kim Wilkerson and John Balthis, and is further cherished in the lives of her adoring grandchildren, Joseph, Hannah, Levi, and Wyatt, and her treasured great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Sam, and young Joseph. Her spirit is reunited with that of her daughter, Amy Balthis, who preceded her in passing. Pat's professional life was marked by a distinguished tenure as an accountant, where her meticulousness and integrity were her trademarks. Beyond her career, she found solace and joy in the delicate craft of stained glass, creating beauty that reflected the light of her soul. Her love for the thrill of discovery at flea markets, yard sales, and auctions was paralleled only by the pleasure she found in the company of her family at gatherings, which she held most dear. A proud graduate of Kennett High School, Pat's pursuit of education continued at Northern Virginia Community College and Marymount University, enriching her mind and spirit. In keeping with the traditional values she espoused, Pat's final arrangements are being thoughtfully prepared by her children. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at the Oakton Church of the Brethren, 10025 Courthouse Road, Vienna, VA 22181. An 11:00AM service will be preceded by a greeting and welcoming at 10:30AM. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family suggests that those who wish to honor Pat's memory may contribute to a charitable organization such as National Multiple Sclerosis Society , Habitat for Humanity or American Indian College Fund honoring her lifelong commitment to generosity and community service. Pat Cash will be remembered as a beacon of enduring love and wisdom, her memory a comforting embrace to all who were graced by her presence. Her passage leaves a void in the hearts of those she touched, yet her influence remains, guiding and inspiring, as indelible as the mark of time itself.
