Patricia Gail Fowler
January 4th, 1925 - January 26th, 2015
Fowler, Patricia Gail Patricia Gail Fowler passed peacefully in her sleep, after a brief stay at Bayfront Hospice, on January 26th with family. She is now at peace and with her beloved husband Donald and son Douglas who proceeded her. Survived by daughter Donna, son Andrew and his wife Christine, and son Bruce and wife Beth. Grandchildren Brandon, Christopher, Aaron, Brooks Fowlers; Anna Christine Perna, Kate Henderson, Lauren Carcone, Lindsey Bahal, Peter Simon, Jonathan Simon, and Britini Morris, and fifteen great grand children. Patricia was known and loved by many as a surrogate grandma at Tampa Prep. She also had many connections with people at The Canterbury School of Florida. Patricia took her roll of matriarch very seriously spreading love to every member of her ever-growing family. She never missed a birthday or holiday infusing tradition into all. She taught each of us respect and love though her actions. She was a proud patriot and was a woman of her word taking her commitments seriously. Her greatest wish was that we all take care of one another. Patricia, a native to New England, spent the last 14 years in Saint Petersburg with her best friend and daughter Donna. She loved to bake for students, create soups for referees, and at a family gathering she was sure to supply more treats than consumable. She also loved to quilt. Working with her daughter to make many quilts; family and friends all benefited from her talents. At Tampa Prep she was always willing to lend a hand for sporting events helping with everything from food to working the scoreboard. Patricia was full of life! In her youth she loved to jitterbug and polka. She loved to sew and read. She taught many things from tap dancing to medical terminology. While living in New Hampshire she worked for a local bakery. Even the bakery delivery men would stop by in the morning for samples of that day's work. Her French cream horns and chocolate eclairs were among the Milford High School students favorites. Ever the patriot, during World War 2, she did welding in the shipyards between college semesters. Even the family dog was trained to stand for the National Anthem. Patricia was an incredible woman. Her loving, compassionate nature and fierce pride supported her until the end of her life. Patricia could and did succeed at everything she chose to undertake. She was a sterling example of "the greatest generation". In lieu of flowers, donations in her name could be made to The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, or any other charity of your choosing.
