Mrs. Patricia “Pat/Patsy” Gilbert(Melvin) died peacefully in her home on January 28th, 2018 in Charleston, SC at the age of 67. Patricia is survived by her husband, Glenn Gilbert of Charleston, SC; her two daughters Gwendolyn Page of Austin, TX and Lesley(Bryan) Keelin of Lafayette, LA; and her seven grandchildren, Rachel, Ainsley, Ian, Zachary, Judah, Samuel, and Zoe. And her five siblings Jeannie Dewitt, Lelani Madison, Cathy McCoury, Jim Melvin, and Steve Melvin. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Pansy Melvin of Charleston, SC. Patricia was born on December 29th, 1950 in Charleston, SC to James and Pansy Melvin. She graduated from R.B. Stall Highschool in 1968. She married Glenn Gilbert on August 15th, 1969. She worked as a legal secretary for Joseph Runey for 20 years. In 1995, Glenn and Pat started a ministry in North Charleston, naming it Celebration Station Mission and Inner-City Ministries. They have faithfully served the poor and needy in the name of Jesus Christ for 23 years. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Wednesday at noon, January 31, 2018 at Celebration Station. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Pat’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Celebration Station – 1935 Reynolds Ave., N. Charleston, SC 29405.
