Patricia Ruth Herbel

Patricia Ruth (Anderson) Herbel, age 89, entered into rest on May 9, 2023 in Caldwell, Idaho. Patricia “Pat” was born February 8, 1934 in Rosholt, Wisconsin to James and Violet (Smith) Anderson. She lived in Wisconsin for 18 months before her family moved to Idaho. Her family moved to Stibnite, Idaho in 1942 where they lived for the next ten years. Her fondest memories were from her childhood in Stibnite. She attended Gem State Academy and graduated from Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska with her B.S. in nursing. While working in Denver, Colorado she met future husband Dale Herbel. They were married on June 8, 1958 in Caldwell, Idaho. They had four children, Del Jean, Gene, Carole, and Wayne. Pat worked for 32 years for Southwest District Health Department, 20 of which were as the Physical Health Director, before retiring in 1999. She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents, and 2 sisters. Survivors include her four children and their spouses. Del Jean (DJ) and Calvin Tabor of Caldwell; Gene and Bonnie Herbel of Caldwell; Carole and Andreas Blech of Grants Pass, Oregon; Wayne and Barbara Herbel of Caldwell; grandchildren: Andrea (Peter) Rascon, Kara (Bradley) Beckner, Katie (Cory) Cook, Ryan (Arla) Herbel, Fritz and Noella Blech, and Caleb and Reuben Herbel and nine great grandchildren. A viewing for friends and family will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 9:00 -10:00 am at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am. A private family interment will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery.
