Patricia Ann Janecek
March 26th, 1945 - January 15th, 2018
Patricia Ann Janecek of Syracuse, NY Born 3-26-1945 in Cleveland, OH to Marjorie Ellen Janecek (Mason) and Frank Henry Janecek, Patricia loved to write poetry and short stories. Her work was published in local and national magazines and she wrote a novel, "At the Foot of Mount Olympus" as well as a book of haiku, "A Year's Worth" with artwork by Liliya Lifanova. She began drawing in earnest at age 5 before she mastered colorization. Writing came later and she worked to create poetry that reflected her feelings, observations, passions and problems. She included many of these in her published works. Practicing the knowledge taught by Prem Pal Singh Rawat for most of her adult life, she was able to travel to see him regularly. While she is the only one in her family to practice this path of inner peace, her family loved and respected her for choosing to pursue truth. She is the youngest of six siblings. She has two sons. The elder, Brian Mason Harris of Buxton, ME is married to Catherine Harris and the father of Theo Darcy Harris and Mason Avery Harris both of Seattle, WA. David Noel Harris is married to Kimberly Noel Ernst-Harris. Together they are the parents of Kera Ann Ernst, Jaime Lynn Kendrick and Ethan Edward Harris, of East Greenbush NY. She loved her entire extended family dearly, and was in close contact with an incredible complement of friends, acquaintances, collaborators, and souls with whom she shared wisdom, guidance, and laughter. She would like you all to know that "the joy and peace you seek is right within you." Enjoy your life, she surely enjoyed hers, and was happy knowing you. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Syracuse Rose Society who tend The Dr. E. M. Mills Rose Garden, located in Thornden Park, Syracuse, NY. Patricia loved to bring family and friends through the garden to share and expand her extensive knowledge of the many beautiful species that grow there. Calling hours will be Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 12 to 2 p.m. at A. DeWitt Memorial Funeral Homes, 4612 S. Salina Street, Syracuse, NY 13205. A service celebrating Patricia's life will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, West Amherst, NY.
