Patricia Maye Lamfers

Patricia "Patti” Maye Lamfers of Loveland, CO died September 12, 2020 at Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland. She was born October 28, 1949 in Council Bluffs Iowa to Norman Matzen and Gretchen Matzen (Buesing). They lived in Glenwood, Iowa. They moved to a farm north of Blair, NE when Patti was 8 years old. Her parents bought the farm the family lived there for the next 30 years. She often told the family about the years going to a one room schoolhouse and living on the farm with her two brothers and sister. Patti graduated from Blair Central High School and then started attending the University of Nebraska in Omaha. In 1967 Patti and Steve met, dated, and married on Nov11th. Their first home was in Boone, IA. They have two sons, Michael and Jeffrey. In 1978, Patti was hired by Hach Company and, they were transferred to Loveland, Co. Before the move, they bought the house on Derby Hill, and have remained there. After 25 years at Hach, Patti stayed home to care for her grandchildren. She often said those were some of the most fun years of her life. During this time Patti learned to quilt. She joined and served quilting groups and made many wonderful friends during this time. Patti is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Steve Lamfers; sons Michael Lamfers and his wife Staci and Jeffrey Lamfers and his wife Rhea; grandchildren Holly, Gretchen and her wife Kristen, Colton and Paul; as well as her first great-grandchild Kinsley, daughter of Gretchen and Kristen. She is preceded in death by her parents Norman and Gretchen Matzen, parents-in-law Seabo and Phyliss Lamfers, grandparents Andy and Lottie Matzen and John and Estelle Buesing, her brother Phillip and her much-loved brothers-in-law Steve and Gary. Viewing will be held at Viegut Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Funeral services will be held at LifeSpring Church in Loveland on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 10:30am with viewing from 9:30am-10:00am. Private interment at Lakeside Cemetery in Loveland.
