Patricia “Lavon” McFarland passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2017, at the age of 81 after her battle with cancer ended. Lavon was born on July 25, 1936, to Frank Anthony and Rose Marcella Libonati in Denver, Colorado, the first of 3 children. She attended St. Francis de Sales Catholic High School. She married Albert Black and had 3 children. Lavon was a wonderful, loving and hard working mother and grandmother. She worked as a bookkeeper for several companies over the years and retired in 2013. She lived in West Denver with her son, Scott, and grandson, Dylan, who, along with Dylan’s mother, Danelle, cared for her at home with help from Denver Hospice. Lavon is preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, James McFarland, brother, Raymond, son, Clark Black, and nephew, Zachary Dobson. She is survived by her sister, Paula (Mike) Dobson, children, Marion (Ray) Sheffield and Scott Black, grandchildren, Clark Black, Jr., Ignatius Sheffield, Myranda Gillingham and Dylan Black, along with many other family members and friends.
