Patricia Scott Nicolson
November 2nd, 1955 - December 25th, 2022
Patricia Scott Nicolson, of Indianapolis, passed away December 25, 2022. Born November 2, 1955 in New Castle Pennsylvania, Patricia “Pattie” was the daughter of the late Donald Nicolson and Ann Pangels. After graduating from Neshannock High School in New Castle PA in 1973, she received an accounting degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1977. She worked for many years in Charlotte, NC as a CPA for a “Big 8” firm and in the corporate sector. In 1992, she moved to Indianapolis employed as a private accountant for a family estate. An inquisitive mind for learning new things, an interest for problem solving, and possessing a deep desire to serve others led Pattie to explore a new direction for her life and vocation. She earned her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Internal Medicine. She practiced medicine at an addiction clinic but later, with serious family responsibilities, she returned to private accounting. Her medical training eventually prepared her for one of the most challenging roles in her life, caring and comforting her beloved mother and stepfather. She assisted and managed many medical challenges late in their lives. Pattie devoted her time, energy, expertise and heart to her family, her friends and her cats. With her kind nature, gentle spirit, sense of humor and wit, she was a touchstone for family members and many friends. She had a passion for alternative medical practices and pursued naturopathic medicine, energy work and Chinese medicine. She believed all had a place in healing and wellness. Pattie always gave 100% and expected the same of others. She is survived by her loving sisters Candy Nicolson (son John Nicolson his wife Laurel and their 3 children Rowan, Everly and Finley), Kathi Nicolson (husband Ed Decker) and Susan Nicolson (husband Michael Rosenberg and son Ian); step-sisters Karen Saginak (husband Tom), Cindy Ensor (husband Steve), Kyra Hiatt (husband Charlie), Erika Pennachio (husband Eric Baker); and step-brothers Bob Dray (and wife Chris), and Chris Pangels (wife Leeann). In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by Step father Heinz Pangels and Step mother Jean Nicolson. A memorial service will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, in Lake Wylie, SC Wednesday January 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
