Patricia J. Putman

Patricia J. Putman, age 94, of Fonda, died Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.

She was born December 9, 1929, in Gloversville, the daughter of Chester and Ila (Lawrence) Frye. She was employed at the former Tryon Coat Company and Diana Knitting Company in Johnstown, and at Brown Bus Service in Fonda. She was a member of the Fonda Reformed Church, Elite Bowling League, Gloversville Women of the Moose and the Fonda Senior Center. She loved to play golf.

Pat is survived by a daughter, Susan Thompson (Gerald) of El Paso, TX; a grandson, Jay; a granddaughter, Jennifer; and a granddaughter, Nina; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura Carpenter; stepchildren, William Putman, Wayne Putman, Wade Putman and Raymond Pedrick; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clyde Putman; a son, Andrew Dingman; her siblings, Donald Frye, Nadine Morrison, Esther May, Frances Wilkins, Andrew Frye, Merrill Frye, Minnie Honeywell and Chester Frye Jr. 

The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 am to 12 noon on Friday, September 27th at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will follow at 12 noon with the Reverend Linda Gold officiating. 

Interment will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
