Patricia Ann Rapp
April 5th, 1934 - August 18th, 2015
Patricia Ann (Brumbach) Rapp, 81, danced her way onto the train to glory on Tuesday morning, August 18, 2015 surrounded by her loving daughter and son-in-law. Pat was born April 5, 1934 in Shillington, Pennsylvania. After graduating from high school, she married and had two children, Brockton and Brandy. After years of travel with her ex-husband Ed in the U.S. Air Force, she settled in New Carlisle, Ohio where as a single parent she raised her two children and afterward worked as a civilian employee of the U.S Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB while being Nana to her two Ohio grandchildren. Upon her retirement, Pat moved to Sun City Summerlin 19 years ago where she has been Nana to her three Las Vegas grandchildren and a devoted member of Desert Springs United Methodist Church where she has served as the church and trustee's secretary for years. Pat was a demanding dance teacher for almost 40 years with the Catherin Behney School of Dance in Reading, PA and then the Pat Rapp School of Dance at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. In addition to her dance career, Pat was very proud of her federal service as she worked her way up to be the F-16 Engine Program Manager for Greece and the Netherlands as a civilian employee of the 88th Air Wing of the U.S. Air Force. She was always involved with her children's and grandchildren's lives and achievements and enjoyed nothing more than being part of sharing their accomplishments with her family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Brumbach and mother, Priscilla Freeman Brumbach, and her three sisters, Jeanette, Betty and Dorothy. She is survived by her two loving brothers, Richard (Dick) Brumbach of Enola, PA and Donald Brumbach of Shillington, PA; her son, Brockton E. Rapp (Columbus, OH); her daughter Brandy Rapp Andrews and her husband Robert W. Andrews (Las Vegas, NV); five grandchildren, Chelsea Rapp (Baltimore, MD), Austin Rapp (Olympia, WA), Alexandra Andrews (Thousand Oaks, CA), Casey Andrews (Oklahoma City, OK) and Ethan Henry Andrews (Las Vegas, NV); and numerous nephews, nieces and former dance students who loved her dearly. Her sassy sense of humor combined with her Pennsylvania Dutch cooking will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial celebrating Pat's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 29 at Desert Spring United Methodist Church with final internment in a family cemetery in Sinking Springs, PA. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Children's Education Wing fund at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89144. Happiness comes to those who are fair to others and are always just and good. Psalm 106:3.
