Patricia Ann Rogers

Patricia Ann Rogers January 29, 1932 – June 15, 2018 Our beloved “Granny” passed away on June 15th after a long, hard fought battle with dementia. She is survived by her son, Carroll Rogers and his wife Linda of Knoxville, TN; granddaughter Amanda Fonshill, and husband Bryan of Falls Church and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Autumn; her sister Joyce Kelley of Falls Church; brother Gene Shelton of Ranson, WV; and many nieces and nephews in addition to a large extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Rogers, brothers Earl, Harry, Bruce and Bob Shelton, and sister Rocky Landi. Pat spent most of her life taking care of those she loved; she was our rock. She loved her family deeply and wholeheartedly; she was a wonderfully strong woman with a mind or her own. She did what she wanted, when she wanted. Anyone who met her learned quickly how sweet, loving and compassionate she was. Strangers befriended her in no time. Her door was always open to anyone who wanted to join her for a cup of coffee and a chat at the kitchen table. She always made time to talk and enjoyed every exchange immensely. You could always count on sound advice, flawless directions if lost, or just an understanding ear. She never hesitated to offer a hand when needed.
