Patricia Roux

January 6th, 1935 - August 15th, 2024

Patricia (Pat) Roux passed away August 15th, 2024 in Chico, CA at the age of 89. Pat was born January 6th, 1935 to Manuel and Mary Bettencourt and spent her childhood years in San Rafael, CA. She met her husband Eugene (Gene) Roux while they were attending high school and they married in 1953. After Gene left his service in the Army, they moved to Chico and there they raised their children, Marc Francis Roux and Robert Wesley Roux.

Pat had several jobs throughout the years, but the one she was most proud of was her employment with Sacramento Savings and Loan. Pat was hired as a teller in 1977 and continued to work, learn and grow with the company and finally retiring as an Administrative Vice-President after 20 years of service.

Pat enjoyed many interests and hobbies. Her love of art encouraged her to accept a position on the Janet Turner Print Museum Board in 1991 and it was a position she proudly held for 25 years. She was dedicated supporter and instrumental in facilitating Durham Elementary students annual visit to the museum as part of their visit to Chico State University. Pat co-chaired the Friends Garden Party for many years and helped set up the Turner Scholarship for printmaking students.

Pat’s most recent passion after retirement was quilting. She belonged to several quilting groups and if you were lucky enough to be gifted a quilt, you could see the beauty and attention to detail that she put into every quilt.

Pat is survived by her children, Marc Roux and Robert (Cori) Roux and grand daughter, Tayler (Curtis) Roux. She also leaves behind bonus grand children, J.B. Renfro and Kaylin Sheppard as well as bonus great grandson, Tucker Sheppard. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by husband, Eugene Roux and sister, Frances Neufeld.

The family would like to thank the staff at Roses and Ivy Assisted Living for making Pat’s final years comfortable.

Donations can be made in her name to the Parkinson’s Institute or favorite charity, ℅ the Brusie Funeral Home.

Services will be announced at a later date.
