Patricia Louise Schmid

Patricia Louise Schmid, 97, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family on September 18, 2024.  Patricia was born on May 2, 1927 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to Ethel and Sakarias Silein. She attended the Mercy School of Nursing in Council Bluffs, Iowa where she met her future husband Dr. Richard Schmid. Patricia graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1947.                                                                 

Patricia and Richard were married on July 8, 1948 in Humphrey, Nebraska.  Also in 1948, Patricia and Richard moved to Loveland, Colorado where Richard practiced medicine for many years.  Patricia was a long-term member of the Lutheran Church, served on the Loveland Public Library Board, was active in Philo Service Organization and participated in the Loveland art community.  She enjoyed reading and was an accomplished artist and homemaker.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, sister Bonnie Kocar and husband Richard.  She is survived by her children Steve Schmid (Kate), Ann Schmid-Moshman (Gordon), Greg Schmid (Sandy), Pandora Schmid-Gill (Jerry), 13 Grandchildren and 24 Great Grandchildren.  A Celebration of Life will be held on a future date to be determined.

Burial at Loveland Burial Park will be held September 24 at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the King of Glory Church, Loveland, Colorado, the Loveland Public Library or a charity of your choice.
