Patricia O'Sullivan Shandro
February 28th, 1935 - August 31st, 2011
Patricia O'Sullivan Shandro, age 76, of Gloversville passed away at home on Wednesday August 31, 2011. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 28, 1935 the daughter of the late William and Hannah Goodman Silber. On February 16, 2002, Patricia married Richard J. Shandro. They have spent the past 9 years united in marriage. Patricia was a 1953 graduate of Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn, NY. Patricia worked as a hat model for Macy's department store in New York City in her teenage years as well as JP Morgan. She also worked as an office assistant for the Lexington ay Center in Johnstown, NY until her retirement. Patricia enjoyed shopping and loved her two dog's who preceded her in death, Muggsy & Pugsy. Patricia is survived by her husband of 9 years, Richard J. Shandro of Gloversville, a sister, Helen Mykel Clarence of Gloversville, a brother, William Silber Karin of Belford, NJ, four nieces: Jan Wiedemann James, Amy McCray Ron, Cheryl Mykel, Rebecca Silber and a nephew, William Mykel Rachel. Additional survivors include two great nieces, Veronica McCray, Jenna Wiedemann, a great nephew, Riley Mykel, an aunt, Margaret Brescia as well as 5 cousins: Denise Streb George, Brandon Streb, Pamela Bailey Ronald, Kevin Bailey and Kimberly Bailey. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Tarakajian. Family and friends are invited and may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday September 3, 2011 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. A funeral service will be conducted immediately following calling hours at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. R.W.Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Patricia to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville, NY 12078.
