Patricia Strohm Patricia Strohm, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, died peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2009 at Mother Joseph's Care Center in Olympia, Washington. She was born in Gwinner, North Dakota on March 17, 1930, and moved to Lacey with her family in October of 1941, where she resided thereafter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry and parents, Pauline and Carl Lee. Patricia deeply enjoyed helping others, and dedicated much of her time to doing so. She worked at Madigan Army Medical Center many years before transferring to the State of Washington Employment Security Department. After retiring, she volunteered at both Madigan and St. Peter's Hospital. In 1989, she joined the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 318, and participated in various fundraisers and functions there. She always looked forward to her Tuesday 'Poker Days' with the ladies! She was especially passionate about supporting the troops, and while Chairman of the U.S.O. at McChord Air Force Base, she spent much of her time gathering and delivering food donations for them. She also loved spending time with family and friends, and going to casinos. Patricia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 36, in Olympia, Washington for over 50 years. Patty, as she was fondly called by those close to her, was a woman of many talents. She was a gifted gardener, and there was nothing she couldn't do when it came to crafts. She constantly amazed us with her creativity and artistry, adding a personal touch to everything around her. She co-owned and operated Cobweb Crafts for many years with her longtime, dear friend, Sally Dunn. Patricia is survived by sister, Shirley Lee and brother, Gary Lee; daughters, Linda Henderson and Jan Bentley; grandchildren, Kelly Caudill, Toni Fullerton, Casey Trawick, David Bentley, and Stephanie Henderson; as well as 14 great-grandchildren; two great- great-grandchildren; and close friend, Sally Dunn. Our special thanks to the wonderful, supportive staff at Mother Joseph's who cared for her the last few weeks of her life. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28th, at the Masonic Center, 455 North St.,Tumwater. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia's name to: Shriner's Hospital for Children Attn: Memorial Department 911 W. 5th Avenue Spokane, WA 99204 You will be dearly missed. We love you, and will hold your memory in our hearts forever!
