Surrounded by loving family, Patricia A. Strouse, widow of the late William B. Strouse (January 7, 1966) made her much anticipated heavenly arrival on September 11, 2024. Patty Ann (to her parents and husband) was born October 10, 1934 to the late Chester J and Reba (Harrison) Abernatha. Her sweet sister, Marline J. (Abernatha) Smead, preceded her homecoming on October 31, 2004.

She was a past member of the Rainbow Girls and Eastern Star Eliza Barns 480 in Williamsport and a member of the Credit Women International.

Patty was a graduate of the Williamsport Area High School Class of 1952. During her younger years, she was employed by the former Grit Publishing, Sylvania Electric and Stroehman Bothers Bakeries.  After 25 years, she retired from Tammac Credit Services. As an active member of Ball Mills UM Church in PA, she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and lent her beautiful voice to the church choir. She started the first Brownie Troup in Balls Mills, was a Junior Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader, and assisted with the Cadet Girl Scouts.

While living in Washington Township, NJ, Pat was a member of St. John’s UM Church and its church choir. She loved surprising others with cards and notes during their seasons of distress and happiness. She was an active member of the Senior Center, where she enjoyed calling Bingo and participated in other activities.

Her hobbies were reading, sewing, and ceramics. Even until recently, she absolutely loved spending time with children and animals.

While living in Columbia, South Carolina, Patricia attended Sandhills Community Church. Later, she actively resided at NHC Parklane Nursing Facility where she extended her “family” with many new friends and staff. She spent many hours reading and coloring pictures to give to others.

Patricia was the mother of the late William B. Strouse II (December 26th, 1995) and is survived by her two daughters and their families: Dena (Ken) Dalton, and Cindy (Tony) Hipszer. She is “Grammy” to Tony Hipszer II (Amanda), Autumn Hipszer, Megan Hipszer, Kristin Dalton, Pattie Dalton, and Kellie (Brandon) Mendoza. She is “Great Grammy” to Logan, Chase & Daphne and Hunter Hipszer, Brayden, Brynleigh, Alex and Isaiah Dalton and Jake, Eli, Lleyton and Emory Mendoza.

There will be a graveside service at Balls Mills Cemetery at the family’s convenience.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
