Patricia "Patty" Ann Weber

April 12th, 1941 - May 19th, 2015

God has called home one of his angels on earth, beloved wife and our Mom & Grandma, Patty Weber. Patty was the eldest daughter of John F. (Frank) and Virginia W. (Ginny) O’Bryant, born and raised in Portland. She attended Holy Child Academy and the University of Arizona. Her grandmother Helen Wilcox was very special to her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers John and Burney and her daughter Tracey. When Patty met Bill in Seattle, only God knew all that would bring forth, and so the rest of their story began. God gave Patty many gifts and the greatest of these was her loving, caring and giving instinct as a wonderful mother. She and Bill were blessed with eight children over the next 13 years: Jeff, Tracey, Lisa, John, Bob, Toby, Peter & Megan. Our Mom dedicated her entire life to raising and teaching her children to be all we could be and to use God’s gifts wisely. She taught us from her heart to be generous, loving and kind. Good manners, timely thank you notes and respect for others were among the many gifts she showed us by her example. Mom loved summers in Gearhart, drive-in dinners at Skyline, Green Rivers at Yaw’s and a nice long nap in the afternoon. She shared all of these and more with us, her lucky children. She inspired all of us to read daily, whether a good novel or the Holy Bible. Ensuring that her children had a good education was very important to her and Mom was especially proud that all eight of us graduated from college. On birthdays & holidays (especially Christmas) she celebrated us and made us all feel very special. Patty’s love of her husband Bill and her children was only eclipsed by her love of her 15 grandchildren: Jacob, Bekah and Jonah (Lisa & Johnny); Nick (John); Abby, Grace and Max (Bob & Christina); Ellie, Jack, Emily, Abe and Maggie (Toby & Nikki); Henry and Cole (Peter & Jill) and Tasha (Meg). She felt a special pride in all of her grandchildren and being a part of their lives gave her great joy. Patty had such a beautiful, loving smile with a gentle twinkle in her eyes for all she loved. She and Bill enjoyed many special times in Hawaii, Reno and Palm Desert. Sunshine, a dip in the ocean or pool, a few rounds of Dominoes and a nice dinner out made the perfect vacation day. One of her special gifts to us was taking the entire family (26 of us!) to Napili Bay on Maui for a week. Patty and Bill were blessed to be married 54 years and they renewed their love and marriage vows with a very special 50th Wedding Anniversary Mass & Celebration. She loved dogs from childhood, she loved fresh flowers (especially peonies & tulips) and most of all she loved us, her family, with all of her heart and soul. She passed peacefully with her family at her side at Mary's Woods, succumbing to the complications of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and congestive heart failure. While we will miss her deeply, all of us are so relieved that she is no longer struggling. She is at peace and “our angel” is now in heaven with God.
