Patricia Westlund Patricia “Pat” Marian Westlund 1931 - 2015 'Tis Grace hath brought me safe thus far, and Grace will lead me home' Patricia M. Westlund, 84, passed peacefully on November 17, 2015. She was born Patricia McMahon (née) on October 24, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. Pat worked for many years as an executive secretary in the insurance business. She and her husband raised a family in Homewood, Illinois before settling in Eugene in 1981. If you knew Pat you knew she was fiercely loyal and loved her family and that this defined her life. She and her husband, Charles, enjoyed a happy marriage for over 40 years before he succumbed to cancer in 1996. Pat was a voracious reader and enjoyed crosswords, scrabble and word games. (Which she usually won!) Pat had a mind like a steel trap and could easily regale history dates. Even in the last days of her life, she enjoyed rattling off answers while watching Jeopardy nightly. She enjoyed trips to the coast and walking on the beach. Pat thought the world of her grandchildren and told anyone that would listen that they were simply “the best grandchildren in the whole wide world!” She felt so blessed that they were part of her life and that she lived so close to them. Pat had a strong quiet faith in God and prayer was part of her daily life. Patricia is survived by her daughter Lynn Westlund, son Jeffrey Westlund (Gina), her grandchildren David Nutting (Kate), Allison Nutting and Emily Westlund. Pat was preceded in death by her husband Charles, oldest son John Charles, and sister Eileen. Her memorial service will be on January 8, 2016 at 2 pm at Musgrove Family Mortuary located at 225 S. Danebo Ave. Memorial contributions can be made to Food for Lane County.
