Leave a tribute

Patrick Ciminera passed away at the Bruns Hospice House in Alamo, California on January 13, 2017 after succumbing to bladder cancer that had spread to his bones, liver and brain. He was 50 years old (April 16, 1966 - January 13, 2017). Patrick struggled for many years with schizophrenia after a psychotic event in 1995 which led to a long prison sentence and diagnosis. After his release, he went on to become a part time peer counselor at Sound Mental Health in Seattle, Washington where he helped other mentally ill persons navigate the system and find a new direction in their own lives. He coordinated fishing trips, baseball games and encouraged participation in soccer games for many clients while surviving himself on public assistance. His mostly solitary journey in life included 5 marathons in one year, hikes to skinny dip in 50 alpine lakes in his 50th year and a final trip to Europe after his cancer diagnosis, where he walked 477 km of the Camino Santiago trail, taking time out to run with the bulls in Pamplona. He loved mountain climbing, playing soccer and participation in renaissance fairs in his youth. Patrick touched many lives during his lifetime and will be sorely missed. Private Services

Ever since, we've had a special relationship with our military families and we are proud to be certified as Veterans Funeral Specialists....
