Patrick Dennis Doherty was born on November 22, 1940 to Edward and Patricia Doherty in Sacramento, CA. He grew up in California and Nevada. He married Linda L. Tomasini in 1963, and they had two children: Patrick and Elizabeth. He was a nuclear weapons Naval officer and served several tours in Vietnam. After his 23-year military career, he worked in manufacturing in New Mexico and Washington State until his retirement. He was an avid hiker and climber until the end, and bagged many Washington peaks, as well as the highest peaks in most of the 50 states, Australia, Japan and Mexico. He shared his passion for the outdoors with his family, introducing his grandchildren to camping and rock climbing, and was grateful to have found several wonderful climbing partners among his friends. He supported Linda’s interest in hot air ballooning, and was the crew chief for her many flights. He was a Knight of Columbus at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, as well as a volunteer for Catholic Community Services and the Multi-Service Center. He is survived by his wife Linda, son Patrick Bronson-Doherty, daughter Elizabeth Landreth, mother Patricia, Brother Edward Doherty, sister Erin Purdy, and grandchildren Kieran, Shea and Connor Bronson-Doherty and Jacob, Madalyn and Jack Landreth. He was preceded in death by his father Edward. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandpa and friend and will be greatly missed. Patrick will be buried at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. Please make memorial donations to the Knights of Columbus of St. Joseph Council, #7528, c/o St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 30525 8th Ave. S., Federal Way, WA 98003.
