Patrick Timothy Hagan
August 21st, 2023
1953 - 2023 Resident of Felton Patrick Timothy Hagan passed away on August 21, 2023 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was at the Felton home he loved surrounded by family and the beauty of the Felton mountains. Patrick was 70 years old. Patrick was born in Yonkers, New York. After living in both Texas and Colorado, he moved to Carmel, New York with his family in 1968. He attended Mount Saint Michael Academy in the Bronx, New York where he was a star athlete in football and forged many lifetime friendships there. After graduating from the University of Arizona, he began his teaching and coaching career which spanned from White Plains, New York to Walnut Creek, California. He would go on to coach women’s lacrosse at UC Santa Barbara and the University of Texas before moving to Santa Cruz. Patrick was endlessly dedicated to helping those who desperately needed assistance. He created his own small business, A Child’s World, which he ran for several years. Following this successful venture he created Healthy Families. This business venture would insure that thousands of people had access to quality health insurance and stand as a poignant reminder of his selfless attitude and kind spirit. Patrick’s journey brought him to the mountains of Felton, California where he began work in the solar energy field as a consultant for Alterra Solar. He described his eight years with Alterra as incredibly rewarding and enjoyable, and through that work he felt a strong connection to his community and the environment. Patrick was immensely passionate about sports and a lover of all things history. He could rattle off statistics from NFL games and regale you with the turning point of key Civil War battles off the top of his head. These interests were indelibly important to him. Patrick had the innate ability to connect with people on an intrinsic level. He had the uncanny aptitude to make you feel like you were the only person in the room when he spoke with you. This affect drew others to him throughout his life and he met a great deal of people who would go on to become incredibly important and lifelong friends. This includes his many nurses in the infusion center. He is survived by his beloved wife, Victoria Allyn of Felton, and stepchildren Easton Allyn and his wife Allison Allyn, and Kimberlee Allyn Toderian and her husband Blaine Toderian. He is also survived by his siblings, brother Dan Hagan, sister Laura Brooks and her husband Steve Brooks, sister Eileen Kelleher and nephews Sean and Troy Kelleher. He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Joan Hagan and by his younger brother Francis Hagan. He leaves behind many other family members and friends including the Miller family (his mother’s family) and the Ouse family (Victoria’s family) and many friends in New York and California. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
