Patrick T. Knowles

"Agawam- Patrick T. Knowles, 42, of Main St., passed away peacefully August 11, 2008 at Baystate Medical Center with his life partner by his side. Born May 10, 1966 in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Carol Ann (LaBare) Knowles. Patrick has lived in Agawam for the past 5 years, previously living in Springfield and grew up in Chicopee. Patrick was a vehicle operations supervisor at the US Post Office Bulk Mail Center in Springfield for over 10 years and a member of the CT Hurricanes Drum Core. He previously worked at Carroll Travel as a travel agent for many years and has been a part of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 148 in Springfield for the past 9 years. Patrick was a practicing Buddhist and found much inner peace in his religion. He loved the desert and enjoyed the time spent in Palm Springs, CA. On August 9, 2008, with friends and family, Patrick and Neil C. Hansen, Jr., committed themselves to each other in a civil union ceremony. Patrick leaves a half sister, Cindy of Chicopee, uncles David, Donald and Kenny LaBare, along with several cousins and many dear friends. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N.Main St. (Rte 20) followed by a Service of Remembrance at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to either Katz Oncology Unit, Baystate Medical Center, 759 Chestnut St. or D'Amour Center for Cancer, 3350 Main St., both in Springfield, MA 01199, for their continued care and support of Patrick.
