Paul T. Castonguay
October 23rd, 1945 - August 15th, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul T. Castonguay, who departed this life on August 15, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on October 23, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York. Paul lived in Palmer for 14 years and then moved to a retirement community in Wheelwright, MA.
Paul dedicated much of his life to caring for others in the healthcare field, embodying a spirit of compassion and empathy. His work as a caregiver left a mark on all those he served, providing both comfort and dignity to countless individuals.
A man of many passions, Paul was an avid Red Sox fan, a keen collector of coins, and a talented photographer. His unique sense of humor and collection of jokes brought joy and laughter to everyone around him.
Paul is survived by his loving children, Michael Howlett and his wife Lynne, and Sue St. Onge. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nicole, Lindsey, Jessica, Stephanie, Tristen, Megan, Kristy and Corey. His great grandchildren Addison, Kinsley, Antonio, Jackson, Aidan and Camden and his dear nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Carole (Martin) Castonguay, his son John Paul and his daughter April. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Mount, Robert Mount, Thomas Mount, and sister Loretta Orawsky.
Memorial services honoring Paul's life will be held on a Wednesday, August 28th at 11:00 AM the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Knoll Cemetery.
In honor of Paul's memory, contributions can be made to Sister Caritas Cancer Center at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MA
