Paul "David" Ford

January 15th, 1952 - June 30th, 2018

Paul “David” Ford, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Beaverton, Oregon on June 30th, 2018 at the age of 66. David is survived by his wife, Peggy Ford of Beaverton, daughter Stephanie (Ford) Tanner of Camas, Washington, and daughter Michelle (Ford) Jankovic of Burien, Washington. Also surviving are his step-mother, Wanita Ford and his four sisters, Karen Slack, Vivian Vonderharr, Georgia Pattee, and Ruby Dooley. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Paul David Ford, Sr. and Ann Bernice Jaross Ford of Forest Grove, Oregon. David was born on January 15, 1952 in Hillsboro, Oregon to Paul and Ann Ford. He graduated from Forest Grove High School in 1970 where he was involved in football, basketball and track. He married Peggy (Wood) Ford, his high school sweetheart in 1971. David and Peggy made their home in Forest Grove where David was an active volunteer firefighter for Forest Grove Fire and Rescue. In 1976 David and Peggy moved to Seattle where David began working for Allstate as a Claims Adjuster and Insurance Investigator. Over the next several years, the couple welcomed two daughters into their home and relocated to Beaverton, Oregon. His family remembers him as a kind and gentle husband, father and grandfather who encouraged them to pursue their goals and made them laugh whenever he could. David became a very accomplished Claims Adjuster and Insurance Investigator, working for several companies around the Portland, Oregon area. He was very generous with his time and loved making new friends wherever he went. David was an active and dedicated member of Beaverton Christian Church and often volunteered in the church’s youth ministry, taught many Sunday School classes and was an usher. David founded the Park Watch program through Tualatin Hills Parks and Recreation, was a past PTA President at Greenway Elementary, a 10 year HOA board member with Sexton Crest Condominiums, and played on many co-ed softball teams with his wife, Peggy. In the last years of his life, David founded ReFire, a Christian men’s group whose sole purpose is to help men renew their faith in Jesus. The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Takahashi, St. Vincent Hospital, The Knight Cancer Research Center, The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and all of David’s medical caregivers for their dedication throughout David’s 18 ½ year battle with Multiple Myeloma. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Sunday, July 22 at 2:30pm at Beaverton Christian Church, with a reception to follow in the lobby. Dr. Clark Tanner will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate David's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Ford Family Fund or David Ford Memorial Youth Camp Fund at Beaverton Christian Church 13600 SW Allen Blvd., Beaverton, Oregon 97005. Condolences can be sent to PO Box 894, Camas, Washington 98607.

David always showed me friendship, love and laughter in the work place. Mike and I are blessed to have been able to spend time with David and Peggy. David will always be remembered as he is carved into the chambers of our hearts. If in the darkness you see stars above, the one that shines the brightest is David - shining for love. Peggy and family, you are in our hearts and prayers. May God bring you comfort and peace.

Well done good and faithful servant, with you I (God) am well pleased. Those who crossed Dave's path saw a reflection of God the father and most certaunly felt His love. While there is no joy in death outside of Christ, there is no end to the joy when we enter eternity with and through the love of Christ.

David, I am so very proud to have known, worked with and to have had such a fine man as my friend. It is comforting to know you are no longer in pain. However, the loss your family and friends feel is immense. Rest in peace, my friend . . . . you "did good" in this life! You will never be forgotten. Don
