Paul Madison Hawkins

Paul Madison Hawkins, age 33, born April 4, 1980, San Patricio, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 from an extended illness. As an infant, he moved with his parents to Oklahoma, returning to New Mexico, with his parents who are Albuquerque natives, spending 10 years growing up in Alamogordo. Paul then moved to Albuquerque as an adult to pursue his career as a journeyman plumber and pipefitter. In peace, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Carter Dahl Hawkins; grandparents, Zona Betty Cottrill, Jean Schweitzer Hawkins, James L. Hawkins, Sr.; uncle, Larry Osoff; and cousin, Crystal Herring. Paul is survived by his children, Alexander (Alex) Hawkins (14) and Mary Jane (MJ) Hawkins (10); his parents, James (Jim) L. Hawkins, Jr. and Linda Cottrill Hawkins (Scottsdale, AZ and Colorado Springs area, CO); his brother, Brian Hawkins (Seattle, WA); grandfather, Richard M. (Dick) Cottrill, (Albuquerque, NM); aunt and uncles: Betty Cottrill Osoff-Hannagan and husband, Dan Hannagan (Rio Rancho, NM), Richard L. Cottrill and wife, Nancy Cottrill (Albuquerque, NM), Jere Hawkins (Santa Monica, CA), Jeffrey Hawkins and wife, Jeannie (Gaithersburg, MD); cousins, Sheila Griffin (Rio Rancho, NM), Jeremy and Jordan Hawkins (Gaithersburg, MD), Michael and his wife, Heather, and their two children, Averie and Kiley Herring (Amarillo, TX). He is also survived by his best friend of 30 years, Eric Soto (Albuquerque, NM) along with many friends he made throughout his life. Cremation has taken place and interment will be private. A Celebration of Paul's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
