Paul Joseph Kochis
November 29th, 1936 - September 13th, 2020
It is with great sorrow the family of Paul Joseph Kochis announce his passing on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at the age of 83. After a brief illness, he passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He is pre-deceased by his mother and father, Mary and Paul Kochis, brother, Donald Kochis and his sister, Elaine Kochis-Stout. Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy Beryl Rose Kochis, daughter Debbie, her husband George, grandchildren Melissa and Justin Wagner, daughter Linda, her husband Dave, granddaughter Heather Petersack (husband Justin Mucciarelli) and grandsons Michael, Matthew (wife Alicia, great-granddaughter, Savannah Grace) and Jeffrey Kunz, daughter Cheryl, her husband Michael, grandsons Michael Jr and Matthew Cominsky. He is also survived by his brother, Richard, (wife Barbara), sister-in-law, Elaine Kochis and nephews and nieces. Paul was a lifetime resident of NJ. Nicknamed by his friends as Red or Sonny Boy, he was quite the character. He had a love for life, adventure and having a good time. He enjoyed golfing and hunting, was an avid fisherman and loved being on the water. He served in the Air Force and while stationed in England met and married the girl of his dreams. Upon completion of his service, he was employed at Hostess Cake where he had a successful 28 year career. He earned many accolades including induction into the Number One Club, a nationally recognized achievement, the highest honor of a sales executive. Upon retirement he enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially sharing memories with his grandchildren. His love of the ocean led to spending time visiting various NJ and Florida beaches and boardwalks, especially Atlantic City casinos. He will be greatly missed as he was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend to all. Friends and relatives are invited to his funeral masses at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Viera, FL Friday, September 18th at 1 pm and at St Ann Catholic Church, Lawrenceville, NJ Monday, September 28th at 9:30 am.
