Paul Henry Morris

Paul Henry Morris Paul passed away July 22, 2013 in Lacey, Washington, at age 94. He was born January 23, 1919 in Winchester, Indiana to Henry and Alma (Clements) Morris. He studied music at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and married the love of his life, Georgia May King. Paul joined the Army Air Corps and completed pilot training. He flew bombing missions in the European Theater during World War II, and transferred to the Tactical Air Command where he participated in the Berlin Airlift. He also flew “The Hump” in India and went on to fly transport planes during the Korean War while stationed in Okinawa. Thereafter, he served as aircraft maintenance officer and flight instructor at Schilling Air Force Base in Kansas. Paul loved music. He played in the Indianapolis Symphony before he was married, sang in the Lindsborg Bethany College Messiah presentation for many years, and conducted the Messiah one year at his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Paul was a High Priest and served as Bishop of the Salina, Kansas Ward when he lived there. He also pursued genealogy for many years. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Georgia Morris; sons, David Morris and Michael Morris; daughters, Sherre (Duane) Brummer, Barbara (Dick) Onions, and Betsy (Don) McLeod; son-in-law, Allan Stewart; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Vicki Stewart; and brother, John Morris. Memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation at .
