Paul David Nicodin
June 30th, 1949 - September 21st, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul D. Nicodin (Nick). He passed away suddenly but peacefully, in his home on Saturday, September 21, 2024. He was 75 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Nicodin, his children April Emerson (Ryan) and Paul Andrew (Jessie), grandchildren Avery and Zachary, and his sister Jackie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Bettie Lee Nicodin.
Paul served his country as a Marine from 1967-1973 and was honorably discharged. During his time in the Corps, he was in combat from 1968-69 in Vietnam where he received two Purple Hearts. Paul returned to Michigan, trained as a brick, block, and stone mason before eventually settling in Colorado. There he worked for the United States Postal Service for 30 years until retirement.
When he chose to follow Jesus, his whole life changed; showing people through how he lived his life that there is a better way. Paul and Joyce met at Rockmont College in Littleton, CO. They married in 1980 and established their family.
Paul was an avid fly fisherman and hunter, a firearms enthusiast, and an excellent gardener. He enjoyed time with his family camping, hunting, coaching his son in wrestling, planting flowers with his daughter, and annual road trips with his wife.
Paul impacted countless people’s lives, bringing people from the halfway house to church, mentoring young men by teaching them life skills and showing them how to become men of character. He was a core member of his AA group and so much more. Those who had the honor of knowing and being loved by Paul always say the same thing, “He was a good man.” He will be deeply missed.
In lieu of sending flowers, please consider donating to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing. (platterivers.com)
As Paul would say, “Nobody gets out of here alive.” Semper Fidelis.
