Paul Fritts Rosenberger
May 14th, 1956 - October 25th, 2013
Paul Fritts Rosenberger Jr. lived a life of laughter and love. He was born to Nancy Beattie Rosenberger and Paul Fritts Rosenberger in Winchester, Virginia on May 14, 1956 on his parent's first wedding anniversary. He was the youngest of Nancy's three children, following John M. Grove and Elizabeth T. Grove. Fritts spent his childhood in Winchester before he attended Kent School in Kent, Connecticut where he was a member of the varsity rowing team and the football team. Following his father's death on October 9, 1973, he remained and graduated from Kent School. He attended Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio where he delighted in being a member of the boisterous Delta Upsilon fraternity. Fritts earned a bachelor's degree in Managerial Economics. He moved Houma, Louisiana where he worked for Otis Engineering for two years. He joined his closest college friends in Houston, Texas, where he met his wife, Kathleen Ann Edwards. Fritts worked as a senior landman for Pennzoil. Fritts and Kathy had two daughters, Jill McLean Rosenberger and Kathryn Beattie Rosenberger. Pennzoil transferred the family to Vernal, Utah in 1996. Shortly after, he took a job with Barrett Resources in Denver, Colorado. Fritts was a certified petroleum landman with the AAPL as well as the Denver Association of Landmen with Barrett Resources, Williams Energy, and WPX Energy. Fritts was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma, bile duct cancer, in the spring of 2009. He was an anomaly to the disease, successfully undergoing cutting edge treatment for several years. His incredible attitude and jovial aura propelled his ability to fight such an aggressive disease. Fritts famously made friends everywhere his life took him. He had an infectious laugh and smile that resounds in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Fritts passed peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2013 surrounded by his wife, children, and dedicated friend and brother-in-law Michael Duggan. He left us with a grin on his face and countless wonderful memories. He is survived by his brother, John M. Grove, his wife Kathleen Rosenberger, his daughters Jill and Kate, and a crowd of loving coworkers and friends. A Celebration of Fritts's Life will be held Friday, November 1, 2013, 11:00 AM at the PACE Center, 20000 Pikes Peak Ave. in Parker. Friends of Fritts Rosenberger: In lieu of flowers, Kathy, Jill & Kate, would like any contributions to made to John Hopkins University to aid Cholangiocarcinoma research currently being conducted by Dr. Florin Selaru.
