Memorial

Our beloved father Paul Trout died May 18, 2017 at age 95 in Broomfield, CO. He is survived by daughters Susan and Deborah, and son David. Paul was born September 17, 1921 in Baker, Montana. After graduating from Montana State University with a degree in Industrial Chemistry, he obtained a doctoral degree from the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton, Wisconsin. During WW II defense research, Dr. Trout contributed to the development of cumene, the first 100-octane aviation fuel, allowing US planes to travel longer missions. He also trained in Naval Electronics, and after the war, worked in the paper industry. Following participation in the first Earth Day, he organized and managed an Environmental Department for his company. He later did environmental consultation to companies in Mexico, Columbia, Venezuela and Spain. Dr. Trout was married for 67 years to Rosemary Trout (Beebe), who died in February, 2016. He loved reading, Sunday family dinners, “cowboy music”, “Get Smart”, and watching antics of the family dogs. He will be remembered for his selfless devotion to family, wry sense of humor and the application of integrity in everything he did.
