Pauline Grace Langr of Gloversville died Saturday October 21, 2006. Born in Newark, New York, March 20, 1914, she was the daughter of William T.H. Beader and Maude DeHond Beader. She was a graduate of Gloversville High School and studied nursing at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She received her degree as a Registered Nurse from Fulton County Community College. She worked for Dr. Edward Sharkey in Northville, Dr. John Esper in Gloversville, and was night supervisor for the Montgomery County Infirmary. On Oct. 30, 1933 she married Frank J. Langr who was Supervisor of the Town of Northampton for 19 years. They made their home in Northville where she was active in many organizations including Cub Scout den mother, Girl Scout leader, Welfare Officer for the Town of Northampton, member of the Home Bureau, Northville Pocahontas and the Juanita Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. During WWII she was active in blood drives for the war effort. She was a long-time member of the Northville Methodist Church and was its choir director in the 1940?s. She played the piano and was accompanist for many church and school functions. Mrs. Langr is survived by her son, Frank Jean Langr of Lake Luzerne, and daughters Antonie Mrs. Harland Close of Mayfield, Mary Ann Mrs. Alain Blanchet of Clifton Park, and Paula Mrs. Richard Van Nostrand of Gloversville. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Frances Mrs. Ernest Perrone of Gloversville and Dorthea Mrs. George Langr of Johnstown. Ten grandchildren Frank Kathleen Langr, David Kathryn Langr, Jon Lauri Close, William Mary Close, Holly Jerry Schopp, Thierry Blanchet, Christophe Jennifer Blanchet, Camille Matthew McCourt Blanchet, Paula Lynn Ferrara, and Richard Kathleen Van Nostrand also survive. Her fifteen great grandchildren are Caitlin, Meaghan, Kristin, Madeleine and Molly Langr, Robbie, Matthew, Stephan, and Eric Close, Alaina Schopp, Katelyn Ferrara, Christopher Van Nostrand, Ross, and Ben Van Nostrand, and Elise Anna Blanchet. She is also survived by great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Northville. Donations in her memory may be made to the Northville Methodist Church, South Main Street, Northville, NY 12134.
