PEGGY S. COOMER Kingsport- Peggy S. Duncan Coomer, 77, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday morning (January 1, 2015) at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was from Scott County, Virginia and lived the majority of her life in Bloomingdale. She was a devoted home maker and housekeeper for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Hood Duncan; a brother, Claude Duncan; her sister, Rosemary Sparks. Peggy Coomer is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas Jackson Coomer; a sister, Evelyn Phipps (Orange, VA); a sister-in-law, Reba Faye Anderson (Abingdon, VA) along with several nieces and nephews. A special thank-you goes out to the staff at Tennessee Community Services Agency for the special care given to Peggy. A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday (January 4, 2015) at 2 pm at the Coomer Family Cemetery in Woodway, VA with Pastor Wayne Baker, officiating. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. If you plan on attending the graveside service you are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. to go in procession. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Coomer family.
