March 28th, 1941 - October 20th, 2014
Peter Paul Bruno, 73, of Davidson NC died on October 20, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Debbie and Jeff Burrows, Bill Bruno, Laura Doane, Susan and Rick Ziwot, Kelly Bruno and Keehln Powell; ten grandchildren, Jonathan, Alec and Brian Bruno; Jack and Caitlin Burrows; Elizabeth, Christina and Katherine Ziwot; and Finn and Oliver Powell as well as his two sisters, Marie Rhodes and Maggie O'Shea. Pete was born and grew up on Long Island, NY. He attended Carnegie Mellon University and began his career at Republic Aviation. Later, his career in Information Technology took him and his family to New Hartford, NY and then Charlotte NC where he remained after retirement. Pete was the son of Emma Biancheri Bruno and Raymond Bruno, both deceased, originally of The Bronx. He was a lifelong philatelist and fervent political commentator. A happy go lucky and friendly guy, Pete never met a stranger he couldn't engage in conversation. A visitation is scheduled Wednesday evening, October 22nd from 6-8pm at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Home, 1111 East Blvd, in Charlotte NC. A funeral mass will be held Thursday morning, October 23rd at 10am at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick 1621 Dilworth Road East, in Charlotte, NC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. www.cancer.org
