Peter A. Dutcher
October 1st, 1940 - February 20th, 2005
Mr. Peter A. Dutcher, age 64, of 40 Storey St., Amsterdam NY, died Sunday, February 20, 2005 at his home in Amsterdam. He was born October 1, 1940 in Gloversville, the son of Richard and Lillian Frye Dutcher. He attended Gloversville schools, and served in the Army from 1958 to 1961.He was employed by Fulmont News as a truck driver. Mr. Dutcher was a member of the First Apostolic Pentacostal Church of Fort Johnson. He enjoyed sports, and had been involved in city softball leagues earlier in his life. He was married August 15, 1964 to Sharon Wilcox who survives. Additional survivors include five children, Peter A. Dutcher II, the Rev. Bradley J. Dutcher and Mark J. Dutcher all of Amsterdam, Jason L. Dutcher of Fonda, and Rebecca S. Griffith of Buffalo, four sisters, Shirley Kirby of Amsterdam, Lois Hayes of Fonda, Carole Warner of Latham, and Darlene Hogan of Fort Plain, six grandchildren, Andria Dutcher, Britany Dutcher, Mark J. Dutcher III, Amanda Dutcher, Jason Dutcher and Desiree Dutcher, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Richard Dutcher. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Tuesday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville where a service will follow at 6:00 PM with his son, the Rev. Bradley J. Dutcher officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice Of Amsterdam, 246 Manny´s Corners Rd; Amsterdam, NY 12010.
