Peter Nowicki
February 22nd, 1913 - October 3rd, 2006
Peter Nowicki, 93, formerly of Lakeside Drive, Mayfield, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at the Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown. Born in Halfmoon, NY on February 22, 1913, he was the last of thirteen children of John and Antoinette Cackowski Nowicki. He lived in Schenectady for many years and was employed by the General Electric Company for thirty-three years until retiring in 1973. He moved to Mayfield in 1975 where he enjoyed gardening, and was proud of his vegetables, which he lovingly shared with family and friends. Peter was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady and later St. Stanislaus? Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. His wife, the former Kathryn Huzar, predeceased him on March 31, 1973. Survivors include nieces and nephews, including, locally, Helen Petrosino, Tom and Arthur Nowicki as well as dear friend, Doreen Moak and her family of Mayfield. Grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and nephews also survive. Services are Thursday at 9:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus? Church with Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti, celebrant. Interment is in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. A calling hour will begin at 8:30 am Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Stanislaus? Church, in care of the funeral home.
