Peter D. Santos

Peter D. Santos, 64, of Amsterdam passed away Tuesday December 29, 2020 at his home with his loving wife and family at his side. Born in Amsterdam NY on December 1, 1956 a son of the late William and Nora Famiano Santos. He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School. Peter was employed for many years by his family’s business, Santos Construction until his last few years of employment with Callahan Industries. He enjoyed boating, watching his Giants and Yankees, playing basketball and softball, big family barbecues every weekend at his home and most of all spending time with his children and grandkids vacationing and special times by the pool. He married the love of his life, Jacqueline Finocchi Santos on September 8, 1989. In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his four beloved children, Joseph (Renee) Santos of Amsterdam, NY. Peter (Cassandra) Santos of Tampa, FL, Angela Santos (Isaiah) of Durham, N.C. and Christina Santos of Norfolk, VA. One brother, William “Billy” (Pam) Santos of Amsterdam and a sister, Karen Santos of Amsterdam. Mother-in-law, Sally Finocchi Sister- in-laws, Rita (Pete) Swatt, Nicole (Matt) LaPoint, and brother-in-law, Michael Finocchi. Nine grandchildren, Kacie, Melissa, Gianna, Andolina, Cataleya, Dominik, Giovanni, Zayvian and Zayair. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
