Peter Irvin Wells

Peter I Wells (Pete) was born 7/29/1952 to Irvin and Delores Wells in Bayonne, New Jersey. He passed away on 08/30/2022. He is survived by his mother Delores Wells and his sister Ivy Wells. He is also survived by his children, Sonya Caron (Ric), Kevin Wells (Tommi), and his grandchildren Noah Ayers, Brody Caron, Reese Wells, and Gaige Wells. Pete moved to Jacksonville, FL, as a very young child. He then moved to the Winter Haven area in fifth grade. He graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1970. Following that, he worked for Scotty's Warehouse, where he met and married his sweetheart and forever friend Diann (Woodard) Wells. He worked for many years as a flooring specialist for Tucker Carpets and as a self contracted flooring installer. He and Diann raised their children together in Winter Haven. They divorced in 2002 but remained close friends. He eventually moved to Auburndale, FL, when he retired. Pete was a huge fan of Pink Floyd, Phil Collins, and Genesis. He enjoyed most classic rock n' roll. He was skilled at woodwork, frying fish, and creating unique handmade gifts for his family. He enjoyed supporting his kids and grandkids in extra-curricular activities. His neighbors would say he enjoyed sitting on his porch watching people, golf carts, and cars go by. He enjoyed taking care of plants and growing vegetables. He appreciated an evening enjoying a smoke and a cocktail. He loved joking around and playing pranks. He wasn't big on showing his emotions, but he made sure his kids knew he was proud of them. We always knew that Pete (Dad) didn't want any funeral services. He wanted a party. His celebration of life will be held at The Catering Company. 2090 Havendale Blvd NW, Winter Haven, FL on 10/22 from 1-5PM. Come by and have a drink to celebrate the life of our Dad.
