Petra Carasquillo, 75, passed away peacefully August 7, 2012 in Tampa, FL. She was born in Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico and moved to Tampa where she resided for many years. She enjoyed spending her time knitting and fishing but loved more than anything visiting with family and friends. She has an infectious smile and we will miss and cherish her memory every single day. Petra is survived by her children, Diana Reyes, Iky Carrasquillo, Nancy Carrasquillo, Betsy Hernandez; grandchildren, David Reyes, Alexis Reyes, Juan Garcia, Anthony Garcia, Luis Guardiola, Rachel Carasquillo, Melvin Malave, Jr., Clarissa Hurtado, Isabel Malave; great-grandchildren, Kevin Joel Torres, Mina E. Reyes, Jeremiah A. Hurtado, Joshua Hurtado; brothers, Victor Castro, Charlie Castro; sisters, Jackie Diaz, Ovi Luna, and many treasured friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Florida Mortuary, with family accepting friends two hours prior.
