Phil Adams Sr.
January 16th, 1944 - August 29th, 2018
Charles “Phil” Adams Sr. passed away August 29, 2018 in Olympia, Washington, at age 74 from complications due to bone cancer. He was born January 16, 1944 to Charles Cecil Adams and Helen Bernice (Larson) Adams in Astoria, Oregon. Phil graduated from Davis High School in Yakima, Washington. He married Joy Carlson on March 2, 1985 in Shelton, Washington. Phil was a born salesman, and could start a conversation with anyone. He was also funny and a great jokester. He used those skills as the manager/owner of Western Auto/True Value store in Shelton for roughly 20 years. At the time of his retirement in November 2015, he had worked for 10 years as an appliance salesman at Home Depot and continued his relaxed and successful approach with his many repeat customers. Phil additionally loved spending time with his family, golfing, playing poker, and watching local sports. Phil is survived by his loving wife, Joy Carlson Adams; sons, Charles Phillip Adams Jr. (wife, Paula) of Shelton, and Dane Alexander Adams (wife, Rebecca) of Anaheim, California; daughter, Cady Helen Adams (significant other, Paul) of Lake Oswego, Oregon; grandsons, Drake and Connor; sister, Charlotte Adams Potter (husband, Fred); plus a large contingent of nieces and nephews, mostly in Washington state. A memorial service will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018, 3:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1925 Boulevard Road SE, Olympia, WA.
