Philip N. Pulizzi
March 26th, 1927 - April 24th, 2011
Pulizzi, Philip N. 84, of Montoursville, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011 in St. Petersburg, FL. Born on March 26, 1927. He was the son of Nunzio Pulizzi and Louise Cardone. He graduated from Williamsport High School and Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned a degree in Physical Therapy. He later completed post-graduate certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics at New York University. During his career, he worked for the former Lycoming County Crippled Children's Society, Inc. before joining the Williamsport Orthopedic Company, which was founded by his father. Phil became an officer and part owner of the company during his career. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and also served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Derr. He is survived by his son, Philip N. Pulizzi Jr. of Washington, D.C.; 2 daughters, Louise Pulizzi and her husband, Daniel Perka of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Mary Anne Pulizzi and her husband, Andrew Lukach of Rome, Italy; 2 grandchildren, Ann and Philip George Pulizzi of Bethesda, MD. A visitation and prayers will be held at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 East 3rd Street in Williamsport, on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 7 - 8:30pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 10am at St. Joseph the Worker - Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 635 Hepburn Street. Final interment will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Williamsport, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, FL 33760-3407 or L.C.C.C.S. Children's Development Center, 625 West Edwin Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
