Phil Ralles, 98, passed away peacefully in his care home on July 7, 2023 with family by his side. Phil was born June 3, 1925 in Des Moines, Iowa, the third child of Tom and Tess Ralles. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and studied at Iowa State University. In 1950 he married Dolores [Dee] Schechtman with whom he had 3 children, Mark, Ann and Liz. He worked in the food service industry in Des Moines, and, later, Omaha where he took a managerial position with Northern Natural Gas Company. He moved to Tucson where he retired in 1978. Phil is survived by his three children; Mark [Leticia] Ralles, Tucson, Ann Ralles [Chris Mahan], Westby, Wisconsin, and Liz Ralles {Alan Aukee] Ironwood, Michigan, seven grandchildren; Tess, Clay, Zane, Cole Isaac Alexander, and Athena, three great grandchildren; Vivian, Ava and Charlotte, his sister Athena Combs, and many other relatives and friends. Phil was preceded in death by his former wife, Dee, brother Homer and sister Rose. A funeral mass will be held for Phil at 10:30 Friday, July 14th at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 5150 N Valley View, Tucson 85718. In lieu of flowers, please you may arrange for a Catholic mass in his memory, or make a donation to St Vincent the Paul for the poor.
