Philip Nicholas Sokolich Philip N. Sokolich, 76 of Rotonda West, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012. He was born on April 28, 1936 in Yonkers, NY to Nicholas P. and Sophia A. (Sedlacko) Sokolich. Philip served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Rotonda West from Tampa 5 years ago. Mr. Sokolich is a member of the Gulf Cove United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 35 years: Ilene; four children: Philip of NY; Bernadette of SC; David of ME; and Robert of NY; three sisters: Paula Kilduff of FL; Nona Kovalcin of FL; Lois Bedder of MI and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister: Claire Marcinko. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 27th from 1:00 PM until the Service Time at 2:30 PM with the Rev. Dr. William Fisackerly, IV officiating with Navy Honors to follow at Englewood Community Funeral Home, Inc. 3070 S. McCall Rd. Englewood, FL 34224. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in Philip's memory to Gulf Cove United Methodist Church 1100 McCall Rd. Port Charlotte, FL 33981 or Tidewell Hospice, Inc. 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, FL 34238.
