Phillip Clark Delgado passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 56 on December 17, 2018. Phillip was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer in 2017. He fought against the disease with courage and strength to the very end. On September 23, 1962, Phillip was born in San Gabriel, California to Charles Benjamin Delgado and Margaret (Peggy) Jean Greene. In 1975, stepfather Ronald Sahlin and mother Peggy moved to Fox Lake, IL where he graduated from Grant High School. Next, he attended Wyoming Technical Institute where he became proficient as a certified auto body and paint specialist. In 2006 Phillip moved to Tucson, Arizona. With over 30 years in his field, he acquired numerous certifications as a specialist with advanced auto-spray systems. Phillip's real interest was restoring classic antique and muscle cars. He also loved the outdoors never missing a chance to go camping or rock climbing (Draper's Bluff, IL. and Mt. Lemmon, AZ). With a passion for star gazing, he educated himself in astronomy and shared that knowledge with others as he pointed to the night sky. Along with these interests, he developed his culinary foundation with the help from his mother Peggy. He continued his joy of cooking but hated a kitchen with dull knives! Toward the end of his journey, he developed his skills as a coin collector. This became a prominent hobby which he spent most of his time exploring. With a quick wit and always certain in his beliefs, he had a way of reducing an entire conversation to a one liner-finishing statement, as he left the room. This would leaving people either laughing or gasping with nothing left to be said! In life, he is survived by his girlfriend Mona Ting, stepmother, Irene Delgado, siblings: Mark Delgado (Anita Delgado), Daniel Mendoza (Linda Mendoza), Rosie Delgado (Ariana Lipman), Nora Iragorri (Sisterin-Law), Mike Iragorri (Brother-in-Law). Aunts Barbara Hughes, DeeDee Beach, and Pat Tugaeff. Nieces and nephews: Dustin (Amy), Carla, Michael, Nicholas, Marcela, Miranda, Keo, Gisella, Sadie, Bella, Penelope, Clementine and new grand-nephew, Ronan! Phillip will also be forever remembered by his extended family, dear friends Mike, Doug (Cathy), Billy, Stevie, Chris, and Dave (Mel) and new friends at St. Luke's Home.
